day 8

Ok...so today I was on my site for about 3 hours altogether throughout the day. A lot of the time I was looking at how my site formed a community so I could use it for my paper, but when I got bored with that I watched a few shows and did a few more reviews. I also checked to see if anyone else wrote on my discussion board while I had been absent, but informatively nobody had :( which was kind of sad, but oh well at least I tried. Other than that I just looked at other peoples profiles and things that they said about the shows and ranked them the way I thought they should. Another pretty exciting thing is just the fact that I have now spent 13 hours on my website and I am finally starting to feel like I know what is going on :)

day 7

Ok so I got on earlier today and worked on my site for about an hour and I am hoping to get back on later to finish up...so pretty much what I have done is the same ol same ol as far as writing reviews for some of the shows that I like, but one exciting thing is people are finally making me feel more at home so to speak as far as them giving my reviews high fives and things of that nature. Things are finally starting to look up and I can see how they form a community within this site. Well other than looking at what other people wrote and watching a show or two that is pretty much all I have done today.

Day 6

Ok...so it has been a while since I have been on my site, so when I finally got on again I worked for about 2 hours just catching up on everything. I started out looking at my profile and guess what?!?!?! i have 6 friends!! yay...it has taken a while, but it is getting better with each time i get on. They also did a little changing on the site to make it easier for people who have just started to get on and look through everything thing, so I thought that was pretty neat, because I suggested it. After that I started writing some more reviews and just getting peoples opinions on different shows. I also wrote in the forum for the class paper to see if anybody could help me out, and I did get a few comments although I wish I had more. lol...I am also now at 95 points which isn't very many so that is kind of sad, but now that I am going to working on it again hopefully I can get more soon :)

Diana Carlin

Diana Carlin came to visit our class today and she was talking about her research on political focus groups. She started her research in 1992 and every election year since she sets up a focus group, and then those finds go to Washington. she started talking about the differences between online and face to face interactions and she said a lot of it depended on having a good moderator. she when on to talk about some interesting findings, such as people like to talk with others about politics. She said we have been taught to not talk about them or religion, but here in the focus group people can actually talk about it. People can also see the differing opinions and maybe see some things from another light. She went on to talk about consistent results when looking at the leader in the country. a few we talked about included; a good communicator, appearance,nonverbal cues, character issue, and empathy.

day 5

Ok...so I thought I was getting closer to becoming a regular on this site but as it turns out you have to have 150 points and I am only at 80 :( oh well I will just keep on trying...lol..anyways, today I wrote a review on the Worst Week which is a great show by the way :) and I also rated some other people on what they said about Home Improvement. I also when to a few other places and looked at the different characters in the shows. I also think I found out how to watch the shows on the website so that was pretty exciting!

my community ( monday 16)

Sharetv.org is a community full of people who talk about the shows they like. They can become friends with people that have the same interests as them. One thing I have noticed about the site is that if you are new it is really hard to come up with friends. Many of the people have been on there for a long time and I am just not sure where I fit in at yet, but I am working on it. Once you are accepted by the others you can talk to them about many different things and also rate them on things they say. This community is great for people who like to watch television, and also to just get to know different people from all over the world.

day 4

Well I am still gaining some new ground on this site. I am still a Jr. but I am getting closer to the regular with every day. Today I wrote a review on Dawson's Creek and I also added a new friend (although I am not sure why you even have friends because I don't talk to them much)lol...I also just checked out some of the discussions that they had about different shows and put a few ideas out there as well.
